A nasty surprise...

Hey everyone !!!

Ok, so this blog is about something nastyyyy :( A few days ago, I noticed an irritating red lump forming on my lower left eyelid, it began to get itchy and constantly felt like I had something in my eye, what was it?...

A sty of course :( 

So what is a sty, and how is it formed?

 A sty is a tender, painful red bump that is located at the base of an eyelash under or inside the eyelid. It is formed by an infection in the sebaceous glands or a hair follicle in the eyelid. The medical term for it is Hordeolum 

A sty occurs when the eye glands of the eyelid that lubricate the eyeball become infected, the infection will occur if these glands become clogged. 

Symptoms include, watery eyes, redness, itching and tenderness. If it is severe (which I have :( ) it will develop a yellow head after a few days and yellow pus will drain away from it. It will feel better once it ruptures, but you should not burst it yourself as this causes the infection to spread around the eye. 

Makeup can be a huge cause of a sty, especially if you share it with others. Do NOT wear makeup during the infection as it will only make it worse AND infect your brushes or makeup applicators. It's actually advised that you throw out any brushes or makeup used just before or during the infection if applied anywhere near the eye. :( ! 

Some remedies for a sty are warm compresses, a towel dipped into hot water, or a favourite of mine, a warm teabag!Press these lightly to your sty for 10-15 minuts 3 or 4 times a day. This will cause the liquid to drain from the sty quicker. If the sty is persistent, you should go to your doctor, and they can prescribe antibiotics or drain it for you. I have even used a wedding ring to bless it 3 times! 

Sties are nasty things, and very uncomfortable. This was defenitely one of the worst I have gotten in my life, I couldn't keep my eye open one day ! :( It's also extremely embarrassing to be out in public with one lol !:( 

Thankfully mine is getting better and on the mend :) though hopefully I won't get one again for a long long time!!

Summer so Far Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ

Five essential items in my makeup kit :)

Hey everyone, decided to go back to my makeup with this blog and give you the low down on five items I literally won't leave my house without :) 

Number 1 :) 

 I think a lot of women will agree with me on this one, but I actually feel naked without my Urban Decay Naked palette, excuse the pun ;) It has twelve eye shadows in the colours Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep and Gunmetal, ranging from light beige highlight colours to dark smokey blues, blacks and browns with some golden shades in between. I wear it every day and night without fail!

Number 2 :)

Nivea Creme,  a really simple affordable cold cream that works wonders for my dry skin! After I cleanse and tone my skin I apply some Nivea creme to my face, especially around my cheeks and T zone area as they tend to be the driest! This leaves my face feeling cool and moisturized and ready for my foundation. 

Number 3 :) 

Whenever I go out, be it at night for a few drinks, or even just with my boyfriend or friends to the cinema or something, I like to dress up, and that means my makeup has to look good as well! I wear tan a lot (usually Sally Hansen, but lately Cocoa Brown) and when you wear tan, you have to have a suitable bronzer, otherwise you will have an orange body and white face! :) The bronzer I find that works best for me was an unbelievably good price from the brand Essence, it is a matte bronzing powder in a huge round circular container called Essence Sun Club and it's in the shade 02 Sunny, suitable for Brunettes :) I literally love this and it even smells nice, like coconuts :) 

Number 4 :)

Bourjois healthy mix serum foundation, this is possibly one of my favourite foundations, I love the brand Bourjois and I have to say they never fail to satisfy with their products :) This is a gel foundation that lasts up to 16 hours with an even revived complexion, does exactly what it says on the tin! :) I have it the shade Vanille or Vanilla :) it gives a good covered base for makeup, covers under eye bags and dark circles making your skin look revived and smells amazing, it reminds me of petits filous yogurts :P Definitely keeping this as a necessity!

Number 5 :) 

Especially on a night out or if I feel like having a 40's/50's inspired makeup look, I love wearing red lipstick! It gives such an edge to a makeup look day or night! My favorite brand at the moment is the Rimmel Kate Moss collection in 01 Rossetto, it is a dark almost blood red color and I always have it in my bag in case I need a touch up during the day or night! I lost one of these on a night out last year in a Club and was heartbroken :( I can't wait to try out more of Kate's collection!

10 Things I love about you :)

Hello again, so this time I was scanning the internets again for ideas, and lately I miss my boyfriend so much when he goes back home or to work ( even though I saw him a few hours ago! :P) I decided to do a little blogeen about him :) CHEESE...I know!

So here is a countdown of the top 10 things I love about you Mr. Doyle :) If I were to write all the things I love we would all be here a very long time ;) 

So here goes :D 

10. The texts I wake up to every morning :) I always have one without fail, and reading it makes my day start ten million times better :) even though I feel so guilty for ALWAYS falling asleep on you ;) 

9.Our song :)  I've never said it to you before but the time you emailed and requested rapture for us in the Bentley, our song :)  was possibly one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me :) seriously stands out in my mind...and just goes to show how cute you are!!

8. The way you are with my family, and how accepted I was into your own :) ( who I now consider my own ;) ) So proud to bring you home and show you off to everyone, love how patient you are with Kayleigh and her persistence in playing cards :P I love coming up to see your family with you, its a second home to me :) 

7. Your literally always there for me :) Whenever I'm down, and I see you walking towards me with that smile and the big hugs, its so comfortable and secure, your like a tonic :D and I know you genuinely care about me, means so much!

6. You never bore me :D ever! I feel like you match my personality and there's always something to talk about, wether its your stories about work, or your attempts to annoy me about hurling :P You surprise me with random trips to places, loved Dun laoighire and Carlow ;) And the trip to Paris, biggest surprise of all :) 

5. Our DMC's :D haha had to add them in!! I love our chats about the past/future :D I love the fact that you tell me everything, and I can do the same with you :) always could even when we were just friends :) I can ask you anything! and I hope you say the same :P (I can see your eyes going wide at that and sayin SANDRA the way you do haha :D)

4.Your compliments :) I could literally be looking like a banshee dragged backwards through a hedge and you will still tell me I look gorgeous or beautiful :) only person that could make me believe it too :P I love when I meet you after work and you say I'm looking really well :D makes me smile like an eejit!! 

3.Your smell/voice/general look about you :D random one I know, but you always smell unreal, literally just want to steal all of your hoodies :P I love how you say 'saysssss the one!' haha...as you know :P and your attempts at doing a culchie accent :P (which are terrible, I'm not from Cork :P) You look so good in your suit, and in everything you wear in general, as I said before so proud to be walking and holding your hand :)

2. You get me :D I love that I can literally be any mood with you, and you'll still be there :D Even during my mood swings and random moods :) I can be crazy Sandra around you and  you don't mind :D You just understand me :) And I love it!! Whenever you mention things about our future it really hits me just how lucky I am to have found someone that can put up with me :D

1. The fact that you are my boyfriend :) ... and I love you soooooo much ! I know I've struck gold with you and your a keeper, I honestly couldn't be happier to say your mine :D ....oh and you make a great cup of tea ;) haha! <3

One thing I dislike about you? The way you have such low confidence, Your an amazing guy, anybody can see it :) and I literally don't know what I did to deserve you! Your so good looking aswell, those eyes and that smile :) Our kids will be heartbreakers haha ;)
